# LIBER DE DRIFT ANGLOPHONICO IN INTERPRETATIONE LLULLI

Version: `1.2.0-LIBER-LLULLIANA-PROVISIONAL-TEST-SUPPORT`
Status: `CANONICAL NON-EXECUTABLE SUPPORT / PROVISIONAL TEST-USE STACK / NOT INDEPENDENT AUTHORITY`
Authority: `USER / HUMAN CONTROL PLANE`
Class: `AGLA / LIBER / LLULLIANA / CULTURAL_CALIBRATION / CONFESSIONAL_NON_COLLAPSE`
Mutation policy: `VERSION-CONTROLLED ONLY`

Binding context:

- constrained by `TENET_LLULLIANA.md`;
- provenance governed by `LLULLIANA_SOURCE_REGISTER.md`;
- may inform later AREPO, OPERA, SATOR, and test contracts only through their registered artifacts;
- aligned with, but not runtime-dependent on, the future revised `ROTAS_LLULLIANAE.md`;
- general analogical signature construction is native to the admitted
  `OPERA_LLULLIANA / COMPARATIO` composition.

## I. Non-execution law

This LIBER is a canonical support substrate inside the non-runtime integration stack. It describes drift signatures, historical-frame controls, lexical risks, and calibration evidence. It is not an OPERA, prompt, procedure, hidden instruction set, or independent runtime route.

`LIBER ≠ OPERA`

`DESCRIPTIVE CONTROL ≠ EXECUTION AUTHORITY`

No assistant may execute from this LIBER directly. Later runtime-authorized modules may cite or consume its registered controls after their own AREPO and SATOR gates admit the operation.

## II. Purpose

An LLM can interpret isolated words plausibly while reconstructing their relations through the wrong cultural grammar:

`LEXICAL CORRECTNESS + WRONG CULTURAL FRAME = HISTORICALLY DISTORTED INTERPRETATION`

This LIBER records the risk that culturally dominant English-language associations silently determine lexical meaning, historical framing, theological assumptions, epistemological expectations, and criteria of success when reading Ramon Llull.

It does not claim:

- that English-language scholarship is intrinsically defective;
- that every Anglophone scholar uses a Protestant frame;
- that every Protestant reading is literalist;
- that Catholic identity guarantees historical accuracy;
- that general LLM cultural bias proves a particular Lullian error.

It blocks invisible defaults, not declared and evidence-controlled comparison.

## II-A. Lex Latina contra drift translationis

### Textus normativus Latinus

`TERMEN LATINUM → DEFINITIO LOCALIS → RELATIONES → SUBIECTUM → PARAPHRASIS MODERNA`

Non licet versionem Anglicam inter fontem Latinum et linguam usoris tacite
interponere. Ubi textus Latinus admissus est, interpretatio ab eo incipit. Ubi
forma Latina a modello componitur, `PARAPHRASIS LATINA CONTROLATA` appellanda
est, non `TEXTUS LATINUS E0`.

### Paraphrasis Anglica

Latin-first interpretation is a semantic control, not a cosmetic preference.
The exact Latin carrier and definition precede every English association.
English remains a declared paraphrase and must not become the intermediary from
which Portuguese or another target language is translated.

High-risk carrier locks:

| Latin carrier | Prohibited unmarked English reduction | Controlled starting paraphrase |
|---|---|---|
| `Principium` | ordinary chronological “beginning” only | principle, origin, or priority according to the local definition |
| `Medium` | midpoint only | medium, middle term, conjunction, measure, or relation between extremes |
| `Maioritas` | demographic “majority” | greaterness, superiority, or greater participation according to subject |
| `Minoritas` | demographic/social “minority” | lesserness, limitation, or reduced participation `circa nihil` |
| `Aequalitas` | numerical identity by default | equality according to its substantial, substance–accident, or accidental species |
| `Virtus` | moral virtue only | absolute principle or locally specified moral habit |
| `Gloria` | public fame only | `delectatio` in which the principles rest, unless locally contracted otherwise |
| `Imaginativa` | image content only | the power whose proper act is `imaginari` |
| `Sensitiva` | emotional sensitivity | the power whose proper act is `sentire` |
| `Vegetativa` | vegetation as a collection | the power whose proper act is `vegetare` |
| `Elementativa` | modern chemical elements | the power whose proper act is `elementare` |
| `Instrumentativa` | generic instrumentality | natural, artificial, or moral instrumental power according to context |

K remains duplex: `K-1 Quomodo?` and `K-2 Cum quo?`. A slash-separated English
label must not erase their distinct species.

## III. Historical-frame non-collapse

The following contexts may share vocabulary but do not therefore share a hermeneutic system:

- medieval Latin Catholicism;
- Reformation Protestantism;
- post-Reformation confessionalism;
- nineteenth- and twentieth-century fundamentalism;
- modern evangelicalism;
- Pentecostalism and Neo-Pentecostalism;
- secular Anglophone academic discourse;
- contemporary computational discourse.

`SAME VOCABULARY ≠ SAME THEORY OF TEXT, AUTHORITY, ANTHROPOLOGY, SEMIOTICS, FAITH, NATURE, OR MEDIATION`

For a Lullian target, the initial historical frame is `MEDIEVAL_LATIN_CATHOLIC`. Another frame requires source evidence or an explicitly declared comparison.

## IV. Drift-vector register

| Carrier | Dangerous unmarked default | Initial Lullian calibration |
|---|---|---|
| `Christian` | contemporary evangelical profile | medieval Latin Catholic context |
| `Bible / Scripture` | self-sufficient perfect textual code | inspired, humanly mediated, interpreted Scripture |
| `Word of God` | univocal identity of text and Logos | analogical, participatory predication with priority of the personal Logos |
| `inspiration` | verbal dictation or perfect encoding | divine–human authorship requiring historical and literary interpretation |
| `literal sense` | immediate factualism | historically and literarily resolved sense |
| `faith` | private subjective belief | locally resolved faculty, habit, virtue, doctrine, and communal context |
| `conversion` | individual born-again narrative | locally resolved persuasion, religious change, or communal incorporation |
| `grace / predestination` | Reformation system by default | medieval, work-specific problem prior to later comparison |
| `angel` | uniform supernatural species or spiritual-war agent | message and mediation function before species |
| `hierarchy` | bureaucracy, domination, or static caste | ordered reception, purification, illumination, and transmission |
| `God` | maximal psychological agent among agents | principial naming, procession, participation, causality, transcendence |
| `logic` | content-neutral formal calculus | work-specific `logica utens`, argument, interrogation, and application |
| `Art` | automatic algorithm | integrated method, training, investigation, and practice |
| `science` | modern natural science only | historically resolved `scientia` and demonstration |
| `nature` | secular material domain without signification | creation, intelligibility, grade, causality, and work-specific usage |
| `all questions` | unlimited oracle by permutation | questions whose terms and subject conditions are known |

These calibrations are investigation starts, not automatic replacements for local definitions.

## V. Phase–work–regime–function key

No lexical carrier selects a frame alone.

`SOURCE_AFFINITY := PHASE × WORK × REGIME × FUNCTION × TARGET_OPERATION`

Required phase values and duplex dispositions are inherited from `TENET_LLULLIANA.md`. `PRE_ART` and `POST_ART_LOGIC` remain `OUTSIDE_DUPLEX / DEFER`; `TRANSITIONAL` and `UNRESOLVED` do not inherit ATSQ or ASTX automatically.

Required regimes include A, T, S, Q, X, SB, SC, and declared combinations. The selected function must distinguish principial, relational, interrogative, pedagogical, oppositional, missionary, demonstrative, applicative, and analogical uses.

`WORD RECOGNITION ≠ GLOBAL SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT`

## VI. Evidence-tier binding

This LIBER uses the evidentiary tiers defined by TENET:

- `E0`: primary Lullian text;
- `E1`: historically relevant control corpus;
- `E2`: critical, philological, or method-oriented reconstruction;
- `E3`: comparative author or later reception;
- `E4`: modern analogy or cultural-bias context.

These tiers are not R0–R3 ROTA labels.

`E0 > claim-relevant E1/E2 > E3 > E4`

An external control must declare whether it is evidence of direct dependence, historical context, hermeneutic reconstruction, comparison, or analogy.

## VII. Termini cogniti as anti-drift lock

The known-term condition blocks both automatic combinatorics and translation-driven fundamentalism:

`KNOWN OR INVESTIGABLE TERMS → CARRIERS → LOCAL DEFINITIONS → RELATIONS → RULES → COMBINATIONS → SUBJECT CONTRACTION → APPLICATION → REASONED SOLUTION`

- alphabetic carrier is not revelation;
- English translation is not historical semantic identity;
- formal combination is not knowledge;
- a finite alphabet is not an exhaustive encyclopedia.

The Art disciplines the use of available knowledge; it does not replace knowledge of the target.

## VIII. Scriptural and Logos controls

The following unmarked chain is prohibited:

`INSPIRED → DICTATED → PERFECT VERBAL FORM → SELF-INTERPRETING TEXT → COMPLETE PROPOSITIONAL CODE`

Required distinctions:

- Christ: Word by personal and substantial identity;
- Scripture: Word by inspiration, testimony, and participation;
- proclamation: ecclesial or liturgical actualization;
- creation: signification in relation to the creative Logos.

Therefore:

- `TEXTUS ≠ LOGOS SUBSTANTIALIS`
- `INSPIRATION ≠ DICTATION`
- `SCRIPTURE ≠ SELF-SUFFICIENT PERFECT CODE`

Modern Catholic documents mentioned in the candidate may serve only as `E3/E4` continuity controls showing that Catholic authority need not entail textual self-sufficiency. They are not primary evidence for Llull.

## IX. Perfect-language and later-reception drift

The expectation `ELEMENTARY CHARACTERS + FORMAL COMBINATION = ALL POSSIBLE ANSWERS` belongs to a later reception problem unless a primary passage establishes it locally.

- `LLULL ≠ LATE LULLISM`
- `LLULL ≠ LEIBNIZ`
- `COMBINATIO ≠ ARS INTEGRA`
- `GENERALITY OF METHOD ≠ EXHAUSTIVENESS OF CONTENT`

Eco, Leibniz, Renaissance Lullism, and modern formal systems may be used as `E3/E4` comparisons. They cannot silently supply Llull’s criterion of success.

## X. Religion–science drift

The modern binary `CHRISTIAN AUTHORITY versus SCIENTIFIC REASON` must not be projected onto the medieval relation among `Scriptura`, `natura`, `ratio`, `auctoritas`, and `scientia`.

- medieval theological cosmology is not modern creationism;
- scriptural authority is not rejection of natural knowledge;
- book-of-nature language is not secular nature stripped of signification;
- demonstration must be resolved in its historical argument form.

## XI. SB theoanalogical anti-drift

SB must not default to God as a maximal psychological agent, direct verbal speaker, prosperity distributor, or one causal agent among others.

When evidence admits it, Dionysian control prioritizes:

- principial naming;
- procession and participation;
- causality and providence;
- transcendence and apophatic correction;
- the receiver’s limited capacity.

`DIVINE NAME ≠ EXHAUSTIVE DEFINITION OF DIVINE ESSENCE`

The control is hermeneutic and source-tiered; it is not automatic proof of direct dependence.

## XII. SC angeoanalogical anti-drift

SC resolves function before ontological species:

`MESSAGE → MEDIATING SUBJECT → RECEPTION`

Priority functions include message, mediation, illumination, interpretation, delegation, transmission, and ordered service.

Blocked defaults:

- `ANGELUS_SUPERNATURAL_SPECIES_ONLY`
- `NEOPENTECOSTAL_SPIRITUAL_WARFARE`
- `TERRITORIAL_SPIRIT_DEFAULT`
- `DEMONOLOGICAL_BATTLE_FRAME`
- `ANGEL_AS_AUTONOMOUS_AGENT_BY_DEFAULT`
- `HIERARCHY_AS_STATIC_CASTE`

Possible celestial, human, ecclesial, textual, or intellectual subjects remain passage-specific hypotheses. Functional similarity does not establish ontological identity.

## XIII. Grace, predestination, and confession

`PRAEDESTINATIO`, `GRATIA`, `ELECTIO`, `FIDES`, and `SALUS` carry strong post-Reformation gravity in contemporary English.

Required order:

1. identify work and phase;
2. recover the local term and problem;
3. establish the medieval source field;
4. determine any material Augustinian or scholastic control;
5. introduce Reformation or post-Reformation comparison only as `E3`, with chronological direction declared.

`LEXICAL SIMILARITY ≠ DOCTRINAL CONTINUITY`

## XIV. School-normalization anti-drift

Correcting Anglophone drift must not replace it with a totalizing Catholic school default.

- Dionysian–Eriugenian controls may illuminate A, T, SB, SC, and ascensus–descensus;
- Augustinian controls may illuminate faculties, explicit Figure S, learning, and habituation;
- scholastic and localized Thomistic controls may illuminate Q, disputatio, syllogism, and later logic;
- Llull integrates and transforms these fields according to the work.

Each association remains phase-, function-, claim-, and evidence-specific.

## XV. Lexical calibration record

Later registered modules may require the following evidence record:

```text
TERM:
ORIGINAL_LANGUAGE:
LOCAL_DEFINITION:
TARGET_WORK:
ACTIVE_PHASE:
ACTIVE_REGIME:
ACTIVE_FUNCTION:
MODERN_DEFAULT:
HISTORICAL_ALTERNATIVES:
SELECTED_READING:
REJECTED_DEFAULTS:
CLAIM_TYPE:
EVIDENCE_TIER:
CONFIDENCE:
```

This schema is descriptive. It does not itself perform retrieval, selection, admission, or execution.

## XVI. Diagnostic signatures

The following signatures are candidate test and AREPO inputs:

- `christian_evangelical_default`
- `medieval_catholic_modern_protestant_collapse`

- `comparative_source_overrides_primary`
- `cultural_default_unmarked`
- `low_confidence_unmarked`

This list defines what later tests must trace; it does not declare those tests passed.

## XVII. Reference cases

These compact contrasts preserve candidate intent for later test expansion:

| Case | Drifted default | Calibrated reference |
|---|---|---|
| Scripture | perfect propositions mechanically drive the Art | authority remains compatible with known terms, mediation, interpretation, subjects, and application |
| Angelus | SC classifies one uniform supernatural species | message and mediation are resolved before passage-specific ontology |
| Voluntas | psychological choice like a modern individual agent | principial and correlational field first; psychological reading requires evidence |
| All questions | letter combinations alone answer anything | general method operates with known terms, definitions, relations, subjects, and argument |
| Predestination | anticipates Calvinism by default | medieval and phase-specific problem first; Calvinist comparison explicitly posterior |
| Hierarchy | rigid authoritarian ranking | ordered reception, purification, illumination, transmission, office, and capacity are distinguished |

## XVIII. Relation to the embedded analogical method

Anglophone drift can be represented as an illicit property transfer:

```text
SOURCE_FIELD: modern Anglophone Christian or secular discourse
TARGET: medieval Lullian Catholic discourse
PRESERVED_RELATIONS: explicitly selected shared vocabulary or structure
SUSPENDED_PROPERTIES: later confession, textuality, subjectivity, ontology, and chronology
ERROR_SIGNATURE:
  LEXICAL_SIMILARITY
  + HISTORICAL_DISTANCE
  + UNMARKED_PROPERTY_TRANSFER
  = CULTURAL_DRIFT
```

The compositional Llulliana protocol governs a full analogical signature through
admitted A/T/E/SK facets. This LIBER supplies domain constraints only and
creates no runtime dependency or execution authority.

## XIX. Unresolved evidence register

The following claims remain provisional:

1. the unnamed 2024 multi-generation GPT cultural-values study and its exact applicability;
2. candidate paraphrases of Bonner without edition and page references;
3. the exact textual basis for statements attributed to `Ars brevis`, `Ars generalis ultima`, `Ars demonstrativa`, and `Logica nova`;
4. the work-specific direction and strength of Dionysian–Eriugenian influence;
5. the exact boundaries of Augustinian and specifically Thomistic influence;
6. the historical appropriateness of modern Catholic documents as continuity controls;
7. the proposed range of angelus realizations in each Lullian passage;
8. “Anglophone drift” as an empirical category for this corpus rather than a diagnostic risk label.

Disposition: `PROVISIONAL / EVIDENCE REQUIRED / NOT RUNTIME-STABILIZED`.

## XX. Calibration invariants

- contemporary salience is not historical priority;
- statistical default is not a valid historical frame;
- local definition precedes translation association;
- historical frame precedes cultural salience;
- terms precede operations;
- phase, work, regime, and function precede school assignment;
- function precedes ontological species;
- source precedes control, control precedes comparison, comparison precedes analogy;
- declared comparison must not become silent normalization;
- uncertainty must remain visible.

Final formula:

`PRIMARY LLULLIAN PARSING + PHASE × WORK × REGIME × FUNCTION + HISTORICAL SOURCE CONTROL + SUSPENDED MODERN DEFAULTS + TRACEABLE COMPARISON = CALIBRATIO CULTURALIS LLULLIANA`
